The anniversary edition of the ACM international conference on Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces took place in Funchal on the beautiful island of Madeira from November 15 to 18. Five of us represented the Inveractive Media Lab Dresden to present our research work (see gallery). Raimund Dachselt, Tom Horak, Ulrike Kister, Ricardo Langner and Fabrice Matulic presented our seven contributions (see news). Highlights certainly were our two full papers (BodyLenses and Eyes-Free Touch Support) that contributed to the attractive programm of this year’s ITS.

The conference started on Sunday where we had two workshop contributions and a Doctoral Symposium entry. On Monday, a big poster and demo session allowed attendees to give a lot of interesting interactive demos a try and to discuss poster works. Our team presented three topics focussing on interaktive star plots, multi-device shopping and graph analysis. All in all, this was a very successful conference for our group with nice research discussions and a great accompanying program as can be seen in our photo gallery.
Next year’s newly renamed “Interactive Surfaces and Spaces” will take place in Niagara Falls, Canada, as ACM ISS 2016.
