On May 12, 2025, Patrick Reipschläger successfully defended his dissertation.
In his doctoral dissertation “Augmented Displays – Combining Interactive Displays with Head-Mounted Augmented Reality”, he introduces a new class of hybrid user interfaces (HUIs) – so-called Augmented Displays.
Augmented displays expand and combine interactive displays with head-mounted augmented reality displays (AR HMDs). The devices are integrated into a single, seamless system in which they can unfold their individual potential.
Besides Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raimund Dachselt as the first reviewer and doctoral advisor, Prof. Dr. Harald Reiterer from the University of Konstanz served as the external reviewer for the thesis.
